JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY

The In-Home Care Director is a key individual in the successful operations of an In-Home Care Agency. This individual works closely with all aspects of the operations. The In-Home Care Director must be well versed in all operational policies, procedures and reporting systems. This individual must have a detailed knowledge of the values and expectations of the company and must be able to communicate this information to staff in an effective manner. The Director must be able to identify operational differences and achieve the corporate goals.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and fulfill state requirements that are applicable. The employee must have sufficient communication and language skills to enable them to perform their duties and interact effectively with clients and other staff. LEGAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this position must successfully pass all governmental and corporate required background investigations, such as, but not limited to, state required criminal history clearance investigations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Demonstrate high standards of professional and ethical conduct.
• A genuine interest in geriatric work.
• Be able to secure the cooperation of others, and be willing to cooperate with other personnel with the ability to lead and take direction.
• Responsible for preparing regular reports indicating the operational progress and performance of the division.
• Attend regular meetings with other corporate staff and prepare and present materials at these meetings, relevant to agency operations.
• Develop and maintain a good working relationship with local, state, and federal agencies.
• Assist the In-Home Care Coordinator to ensure the overall profitability of the agency.
• Work closely with management and corporate staff to ensure corporate wide attainment of excellence in care and financial targets. .
• Fill-in in a variety of positions in the event of Coordinator illness, or absence.
• Be on call to support management and emergency situations with clients.
• Responsible for recruitment, orientation, supervision, and performance reviews of Coordinators.
• Ensure that Coordinators properly train staff on their duties and are following prescribed service plan rules and regulations, and policies and procedures.
• Responsible for direct planning and systems compliance for division operations. Continually review and assess each division performance to assure compliance with rules and regulations, and policies and procedures.
• Monitors quality in all divisions to ensure adherence to corporate guidelines, policies and standards, regulations and standards of the facilities/residencies.
• Conducts regular reviews of all division to ensure adherence to In-home Care guidelines, policies and standards, regulations and standards of the company.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee and provide support to the operations of the agency within the assigned geographical areas.
He/she carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, teaching, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, disciplining, and terminating employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• A minimum of three years in management and marketing background in a health care related field
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of state In home care rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of the facility policies and procedures.
• Knowledge and proficiency in data entry/extraction.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

The In-Home Care Director shall have sufficient communication and language skills to enable them to perform their duties and interact effectively with clients and other staff. He or she must be able to read, write, and comprehend instructions, business correspondence, and memos. He/she must have the ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER DUTIES

Responsible for implementing the overall In home care projects and ensuring compliance with budgets. Evaluate policies and procedures and make recommendations for change to the VP of operations. Develop and maintain a good working relationship with local, state and federal agencies. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Complete reports as necessary. Other duties as assigned by the Regional V.P. of Operations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Individual must have a Current Drivers License, a good driving record and be insurable to provide client transportation. Proof of insurance on his/her personal vehicle is required, if used for business purposes.

North Bend, Oregon - It’s a concept that has been in the works for years and now Inland Point Senior Community is showcasing it’s newest venture to the public.

Inland Point's Venture Inn is located in North Bend, Oregon

Open since early February, the new Lifestyle Center is the latest major project to be complete at Inland Point.

The Venture Inn Restaurant, Internet cafe, fitness center and in-house nurse practitioner, are just some of the many features of the center, all of which are open to the public, not just residents.

“We really wanted to reach out to the community and show our appreciation to them. We also want to show them all the things we have going on here,” says incoming Executive Director Dave Cohen.

Cohen and outgoing Executive Director Chris Cooney say the facility was always in the plans ever since the property was purchased.

“Ever since we opened 13 years ago, we purchased a large piece of land with the intention of building the cottages and eventually a restaurant. That idea grew into this.”

Cohen and Cooney invite anyone to stop by and check it out.

The center is open seven days a week from 7 am to 8 pm.

The official grand opening ceremony will take place Friday, April 18th at Inland Point Senior Community in North Bend from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.

What is a Retirement Residence?

Retirement Residences meet the needs of those who require greater security or who are no longer able to manage all the activities of daily living by themselves. In most cases, long term care homes are designed for people who require the availability of 24-hour nursing care and supervision, within a secure environment. In general, long term care homes offer higher levels of personal care and support than those typically offered in retirement living.

In addition, where the monthly fees of living in a retirement residence are covered in-full by Residents, in a long term care home, these fees are offset by the provincial government, making them a more affordable option for those in need.
