Van Driver
Summary
Staff in this position must provide the facility with a continuous stream of information on the status of the community’s van. He/She must be able and willing to follow directions accurately. Outside of the facility, one must represent the facility in a positive, enthusiastic, service and people oriented fashion. Adapt to the changing needs of the residents at any given point in time. He/She must also be able to ensure that the residents will arrive at their destination safely.

Essential Responsibilities
- Ability to communicate with and relate well with the elder population, other staff members and the general public.
- Knowledge of proper transfer procedures and body mechanics.
- General knowledge of oxygen tanks and equipment.
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow written instructions and company policies.
- Active listening.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Observational and visual skills.
- Clear speaking voice.
- Math and money handling skills.
- Displays cheerful and positive attitude.
- Contributes to the team effort.
- Develop a working knowledge of proper operation of the community’s van, including tie-downs, lifts, and steps.
- Present oneself in an orderly and professional manner.

Employees in this position must successfully pass all governmental and corporate required background investigations, such as, but not limited to, state required criminal history clearance investigations.
